Small-Scale 2.5G Ethernet Switch

 

With the increasing demand for 2.5G access, 2.5G switches began to gradually replace traditional gigabit switches. Our MIS8112N is a small scale 2.5G switch, cost effective with high integration and low power consumption, probably be one of the best choices for small scale 2.5G switch in the same type of commercial application.

MIS8000 series 2.5G plug-in switch based on modular design, is referring to the Diamond EPS-12000-CM, a similar product in the market, can simply plug-in the interface connectors but would support 2.5G Ethernet instead of traditional 1G Etherent. It consists of two basic modules : MIQ8104N and MIQ8008B, supports various models from 4x 2.5G Ethernet switch to 12x 2.5G Ethernet with SFP+ switch.

 

Feature Highlights

 

Port capacity

MIS8112N 2.5G plug-in switch design uses non-European and American company Realtek switch chip. Each Realtek 2.5G switch chip supports quad-port 2.5G Ethernet PHY Transceiver and 10G Serdes, so that 3 pieces can provide 12x 2.5G Ethernet ports with upstream 10G SFP+ port and maintain high switching capacity.

 

Cost-effective Design

MIS8112N is low-power, high-performance and highly integrated 2.5G ports and 10G SFP+ switch. The embedded packet storage SRAM in the chip features superior memory management technology to efficiently utilize memory space. The non-blocking switch architecture, with internal integratiion of high capacity cache, link aggregation function enhances link redundancy and increases bandwidth linearly, all ports can be forwarded at high speed and maintain high switching capacity. Offering wire-speed performance for 2.5G platforms, the MIS8104N switch provides a cost-effective solution for small scale 2.5G Ethernet switches.

 

Multi-speed Intelligent Switching Function

MIS8112N uses state-of-the-art DSP technology and an Analog Front End (AFE) to enable high-speed data transmission and reception over UTP cable. The embeded 2.5G Ethernet PHY Transceiver that complies with 10Base-Te, 100Base-TX, 1000Base-T and 2.5GBase-T, and is fully compatible with IEEE 802.3 standard. This adaptive ability allows plug and play connection to the existing Cat. 5e cable network and upgrade to 2.5G fast network easily. Its high-performance switching controller , integrated high-capacity cache, can ensure that all ports can achieve high-speed forwarding and high switching capacity, adapt to more unexpected situations.

 

Wide Voltage Input Range Design

MIS8112N is power through wide range of input +6V to 36V DC. The input voltage to be DC/DC converted to +5.5V@3.5A as transients for inter-board connection, then to be converted to +3.3V and 0.95V independently in each module board.

 

Modulation Design

The MIS8000 Series are unmanged 2.5G Ethernet Plug-In switches based on two modules, in an ultra-compact 84mm x 55mm size offering 4x to 8x 2.5G Ethernet ports and optional with 1x 10G SFP+ uplink port. These two modules can standalone use or integrate to becomes 12x 2.5G Ethernet switch and optional with SFP+ uplink
